Do The Right Thing (2): Say It Right

Updated: Oct 26, 2021

People mostly take you first by your words and then treat you the way you treat your words. Since it is by your words that you will be justified or condemned, it surely pays to learn to think and say it right.

Your talk is a direct product of your thought.

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Matthew 12:34-37

You’ll be posting loads of engaging content, so be sure to keep your blog organized with Categories that also allow visitors to explore more of what interests them. How often one catches people saying different things than they intend to say!

That easily happens because your talk is connected to your thought. No matter how well you repress a thing you dwell on too often, it will once find out an expression in your various actions and inactions. Both good and bad people speak out of what is deeply rooted in their hearts. And when the thoughts are acted upon, they create a corresponding life pattern. People take you for the fruits you bear. That is why the Bible warns us to keep our heart with all diligence for out of it comes out the issues of life (Prov.4:23.) Your thought, your mood and your talk all mould your walk in life.

1. Watch Your Words

Which word do you meditate upon day and night? That might prove to be a life and death question!

It is not only going to be the major ingredient of your actions and utterances, scripturally speaking, it is going to be the major source of your prosperity and success in life (Joshua 1:8.) More than that, in the heavenly realms, you shall be justified or condemned by your word. Do you find your word condemning you? Then it is time to replace your word with the word of God and begin to meditate upon it day and night.

2. Watch Your Thought

Bible says that those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart (Matt 15:18-20.) Since your thought has great effect on your physical actions and utterance, there is no short cut to learning to say it right that will take you away from thinking it right. To say it right, you need to watch out what you read and meditate upon. You just got to think it right.

3. Watch Your Emotion

Your emotion is a reflection of your thought. Make it a good habit not to make decision when you thoughts and feelings are not right. Hurt people mostly make bad decision and bad decision can sometimes be very expensive. Bad mood will provoke you to say bad thing especially if you are not a self disciplined person. The best discipline is to learn to control the way you think about people. You can hardly say good thing about the person you distaste or hear bad thing about. However it is easier to talk well of a person you refuse to rumour or gossip against. It is difficult to abuse the person you pray for. When you invest much time in praying for people, you will find it very easy to talk well of them and that in turn will say great thing about your spiritual maturity and social integrity.

4. Watch Your Decision

Your decision is the mirror of your emotion. Depressed people always talk dejection and excited people always talk creative and exciting thing. Invest time in improving your emotion if you want to live an exciting life.

Don‘t just be an emotional man that allows his feeling to rule and ruin him. Get also spiritual. Permit the everlasting word of God to tame your emotion as you take your daily inspiration from it.

5. Watch Your Expression

Not every word is creative. Only faith rooted word located in the word of God and deeply rooted in your heart can positively change the direction of your life. Every time you talk you are either blessing or cursing yourself.

Refuse to use your mouth to create what you do not want to have. Every believer needs to master the use of tongues positively. Stop creating around you the negatives. If all you can say is; "I am ruined“; "I can not make it“, that is exactly what will become of you. A badly used mouth can destroy the work of your hands (Eccl 5:6.) Rather learn to speak life into your situation. Follow the footsteps of that faith warrior, Apostle Paul, who used his mouth to release himself into supernatural realms where, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthened me“ (Philip 4:13.)

Put Power in Your Mouth

Your thought is responsible for your emotion and the expression born out of your decision is the moulding hands that create your life. There is death and life in the power of the tongue and the owner will surely eat the fruit his mouth produces.

Train your mouth to speak what will build and not ruin you.

Let your mouth become an outlet for creative words of faith.

The word of God is power.

To say the right thing, you need to get the right word of God into your heart first.

Then daily meditate it till it renews your mind and transforms your emotion, decision and personality in to perfection (Rom.12:2.)

Every word, located in the Bible and well-rooted in your heart becomes power in your tongues when you speak it out with faith and follow it up with corresponding action.

It all starts with you putting the word of God in your mouth and helping it to find its way past your head deep down into your heart.

Do you want powerful word in your mouth?

Then put some powerful ideas in your heart today.

Great people talk about ideas. Small people talk about others.
